Hockey Wash Supports Acces Hockey and their efforts to provide equipment to underpriveliged children in Aylmer!

Hockey Access came to be when four hockey dads agreed that financial barriers should not prevent children and youth from playing organized hockey, and decided to pool their efforts to help children and youth from low-income families join the local organized hockey league. They got to work right away, spreading the word and looking for and finding sponsors (3M and 30+ Aylmer Hockey League). They also had a logo designed through one of the local schools.

- On March 1st, 2008, a large wooden bin was installed at the local indoor rink and hockey players, parents, coaches were invited to deposit any new or gently used hockey equipment that was no longer of use to them.

- Hockey Access partnered with the Aylmer Youth Center, Hockey Wash (a company that specializes in disinfecting hockey equipment), the Aylmer Minor Hockey Association, the Canadian Tire Foundation’s Jump Start Program, and the City of Gatineau.

- Hockey Access received donations from the community (individuals, hockey teams, 3M, 30+ Aylmer Hockey League, and Gatineau firefighters).
